Imagine if you will, having the emotional depths of the mind of others given to you with just a touch, just a look. Imagine it being impossible to feel anger or hatered towards others because their inner lives become your own, their neural activity entirely interlocked with yours and vise versa. Could that stop people from hating, wishing harm upon one another, war, fear? Could it become a possibility and make the world a loving and caring place? Could we perfect empathy? Could we use our brains as weapons of war without the need of weapons? Also the idea of traveling to space to go on a vacation or have corporation get togethers is very intreging to me, I would love this being able to look out a window and see earth below me. I wonder how far into the future this story could actually happen. Could it happen in my lifetime, my childrens, or their childrens lifetime? This was an awesome read, I am still wondering what happens to Cordila and Liza when they took them off the space station, and if I could handle being able to know what people are thinking by just looking at themProduct details

The story starts with Liza waiting to meet her friend Cordelia, in a mysterious location, and Cordelia
asks Liza to join her. I was transfixed as the book took me along the amazing journey with them.
Set in the future, this is a very well written book that will keep you turning the pages.The imagination
that the author exhibits is incredible. That he pays attention to all the small details is just one of the
things that make this an exceptional book. I read cover to cover without putting it down. I highly
recommend this book. It is by far the best science fiction I’ve ever read
In the opening chapters of Psyche Transcending the Human Condition, Steve Hanson reveals just enough details to fill the reader with overwhelming suspense as he uses vivid descriptions to create imagery that sets the tone of his book. The story takes play not too far in the future that it cannot be imagined and yet close enough to reality to give you chills.
The question is posed What if our brains can be altered in such a way that we become void of feelings of hatred, animosity, and even violence? This story recounts a possible cover-up of an experiment that reprograms the mind of individuals so that souls connect and emotions are intertwined. Hanson was not timid as he forced us to view mankind through the lens of a “mad scientist” and from the perspective of a victim that, for the right reasons, became part of a scheme that killed her spirit and altered her psyche forever.
Interesting read. I have to say the book took me into another world. Think if you will a world without greed, anger, violence and hatred, however it doesnt turn out the way you would think it would. Good take me away into another world and make you think book!
This was a pretty interesting story, but it seemed like the writer used a thesaurus throughout the book. Every other word used a very complicated version of a common word which made it kind of annoying to read.
What is better than being able to curl up with a book and escape the world we live in. Psyche gives you that experience. The book touches on a subject of the future that we see sometimes but in a different light, a look into the human brain from a different angle but without all the science that most of us do not understand. It talks of a future that may happen at some point, not in the lifetime of me or even my children, a life that may begin in my grandchildren or great-grandchildren’s lifetime is possible. The idea of being able to go into space for a vacation or work purposes is a future that our government seems to be working towards and this book makes that a reality, while trying to show how the human brain may one day be used as a weapon in war. It was an interesting read that kept me hooked until the end, even now I sit wondering what happened to Liza and Cordelia after leaving the space station!
Sitting here glued to this book Psyche written brilliantly by Steven Hanson, gave me the opportunity to soak in the words and escape the real world. Wouldn’t it be awesome if we could improve our lives and those around us? No more feelings of being lost or hopeless. I was excited in this book to see how the mind can work for the better of humanity. It really is too bad that someday probably in the not so far off future the mind will be used for a weapon. Since psychology is a science it is easy to manipulate the brain to do whatever we want it to do. I recommend this book you will be fascinated to see how the mind is controlled and like me escape the reality of today. I really hope there will be a squeal to this book as I can’t help to wonder what will happen next.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this book. I say surprisingly because I recently just started enjoying science fiction again. Psyche, I see it along the lines of Hunger Games or Divergent type of plot. The government is very powerful and controlling. The story centers around two young women who knew each other from college and it is set in a time of financial collapse, digital age, face recognition and big government. It is a time where we have capabilities to travel to other planets and stay in space station resorts. This story kept me interested from beginning to end I was waiting to find out what was going to happen next. A science fiction thriller short story, with its share of suspense. It could have easily been a longer story and kept my interest. I was waiting for more. I recommend reading this book. You will not be disappointed. Good read.
